Our client is a world player in the metals industry.

Their request
To design customised programmes in order to strengthen leadership among their technical managers and foremen in three different countries.

Our approach
Galilei provided support to the company in management development and implementation of a well thought-through talent management process. The goal? To enhance the skills of the foremen and team leaders so that they could hold effective appraisal and job description discussions with white- and blue-collar workers. We supported staff and managers with tools for carrying out and appraising different stages of career development. The process was underpinned by effective communication campaigns targeted at all involved.



Case 2: Talent Management


The company
Our client is a leading provider of modern telecommunication applications for the Belgian corporate and private market.

Their request
To assist managers so that they can create a more balanced structure for feedback discussions and to optimise content and form. 

Our approach
Over the years our client had created a wide range of talent management instruments and initiatives in accordance with corporate policy and strategy. Galilei took up the challenge of bringing its own talent management process in line with existing material while adding new life to this process. We encouraged staff at all levels to fine-tune the way they managed the system they had created. During carer discussions we no longer focused exclusively on results achieved, but also on targeted attitudes. We organized workshops on performance management, career management and development plans. The programmes started up in the autumn of 2011 and will run for more than 12 months.


Case 3: Change Management

The company
Our client is an international group in the industrial chemicals and plastics sector.

Their request
The client was carrying out a large-scale programme of change that focused among others on increasing the efficiency of work procedures, introducing a top-down leadership model and a bottom-up appraisal and evaluation system for all staff.

Our approach
Galilei created a programme strategy with elements from the workshops and seminars on ‘Guiding Change’, ‘Leadership Development’ and ‘Talent Management’ in accordance with the company’s vision, jargon and existing material.


Case 4: Change Management & Coaching & Career Transition


The company

Our client is an international group in the life sciences sector.

Their request
Offer the corporate HR division support during the various waves of restructuring.

Our approach
Galilei has worked with this company on its different restructuring phases since 2007. We work with different programmes in the field of change management, inplacement and outplacement. Our change team takes an advisory role and we handle the communications with the trade unions. Galilei launches different workshops and training courses aimed at supporting the change process. The themes include: ‘dealing with change’ and ‘leadership in times of change’. The programme also includes intervision sessions on topics such as retention building up resilience and carrying out redundancy discussions.

We have also created individual and collective outplacement programmes for blue and white collar workers as well as managers. We provide support for managers and employees in career development via workshops on ‘Your career in perspective’ and ‘Managers as career assistants’. And finally we also coach individual staff to shape their personal development according to corporate goals.



Case 5 : Career Transition & Notification Training

The company
Our client is a global provider of financial messaging services.

Their request
To organise career transition services for the group’s head office and all foreign branches.

Our approach

Galilei is a partner on inplacement and outplacement projects which means that we support the current Lea Process throughout the company. We promote internal mobility with inplacement programmes where we give the staff an opportunity to reflect on their careers. We encourage them to be clearer about their career objectives and to take more goal-oriented steps. By providing training and support we are able to strengthen the HR department in its role as career guidance provider.

In terms of outplacement, we offer an integrated approach. We handle communications with the trade unions, we train mangers in carrying our redundancy discussion, we offer outplacement assistance and automatically report on results.



Case 6 Career Transition

The company
Our client is an international group in the life sciences sector.

Their request

To organise individual and collective outplacement for a large number of employees.

Our approach

The company has been going through a restructuring process since the end of 2008. In our role as outplacement partner, we support the company and its employees to ensure that this process runs as smoothly as possible. We provide advice about project organisation, legal aspects and communications.

We set up a Career Transition Centre, train managers in carrying out dismissal discussions and employees in dealing successfully with change. We maintain close contacts with the trade unions and work very intensively with the VDAB, social partners and other outplacement partners. We carry out collective and individual outplacement programmes and ensure that the content thereof meets client expectations as well as the needs of the target group.
